Orthogonal train of modified Costas pulses

Two recent results are combined to create a radar signal with improved performances. The signal is created initially from a coherent train of N identical modified Costas pulses. An orthogonal set of N phase codes is then overlayed on the N pulses.
Dr. Nadav Levanon - Tel Aviv University
Nadav Levanon received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in EE from the Technion, Israel, in 1961 and 1965, and the Ph.D. in EE from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1969. He has been a faculty member at Tel Aviv University since 1970, where he is a professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering – Systems, and head of the Weinstein Research Institute for Signal Processing. He was chairman of the EE-Systems Department between 1983-1985. Prof. Levanon is a Fellow of the IEEE and the IEE. He has published more than 50 journal papers and holds 10 US patents. He is the author of the book “Radar Principles” (Wiley, 1988). His second book with Wiley, "Radar Signals", is scheduled to appear in July 2004.
Dr. Eli Mozeson -
Eli Mozeson received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University in 1992,1999 and 2003. Since 1992 he serves in the Israeli Air Force.
